Hello 5C students and families!
I'm Mrs. Carbah, and I am so excited to be teaching 5th grade this year at Jessie F. George School alongside Mrs. Connelly!
Here is a little information about me:
I grew up in Texas, and I now live nearby with my husband. When I'm not teaching, I love reading, cooking new recipes, and spending time with many families. My favorite color is yellow and I also love traveling to new places!
I earned my degree in Elementary Education from Ramapo College. Before coming to George School, I taught kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, and 4th grade (I taught three months at Berkeley last school year!) in neighboring districts. I feel very lucky to to now be here at George!
Teaching is my passion, and I feel so fortunate to do what I love every day. Fifth grade is such a special year filled with new challenges, big accomplishments, and lots of memories. I know we will learn so much together while also having fun along the way!
I am truly looking forward to meeting all of you, building out classroom community, and making this school year one to remember. I cannot wait to get started!

Hello 5 C students and families!
I'm Mrs. Connelly, and I am very excited to be teaching fifth grade again at Jessie F. George School!
Here is a little information about me.
I live in Northvale with my husband, two children, and two cats. My daughter is in 8th grade and my son is in 6th grade. My husband is a teacher too and teaches fourth grade. Our cats' names are Pickles and Pepper. They are very entertaining!
When not teaching, I enjoy reading, coaching, baking, and playing softball and volleyball. I also love trivia and puzzles!
I earned my degree in elementary education from Boston University and before coming to George School, I taught in the Ridgewood, Glen Rock, and most recently, Northvale school districts.
Between those districts, I worked teaching fourth and fifth grade.
I love being a teacher! My favorite part of my job is getting to know my students and connecting with them emotionally and academically so they can grow and meet their goals. Fifth grade is an important grade where we will focus on preparing for the transition to middle school and growing as independent learners. I never cease to be amazed by the ideas and accomplishments achieved by fifth graders and am excited to see the wonderful milestones we will reach this year!
I can't wait to get to know you all and truly look forward to being your teacher this year!
-Mrs. Connelly
