2021 Brookside Field Day

AHH! It's that time of the year!!!

We’re excited to announce that our school will be participating in a Live Field Day event.

  • Monday, June 7th for Kindergarten through 2nd graders

  • Tuesday, June 8th for 3rd through 5th graders!

  • Our Rain Date will be on Friday June 11th.

In addition to our in-person Field Day, an afternoon of virtual water events will be set up through the Field Day Site with the use of Flipgrid flipgrid.com/628cb8a5 .

Field Day is an outside event and remote students are invited to join their classmates for the day. Though it is a typical school day (8:50 a.m. - 12:50 p.m.), Field Day activities for students will run from 9:30 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. If your child is a remote student and plans to attend in-person Field Day, please notify your homeroom teacher and Anna Parke our school nurse.

All students should pack a drawstring knapsack with a towel, water bottle and nutritious snacks. Sunscreen should be worn by your child upon arrival at school.

The outdoor field and black top space will be set up into 10 stations. There will be 1 minute of explanation, 9 minutes of play, and 5 minutes to give us time to sanitize equipment and transition to the next station. Teachers will bring each of their classes from one station to the next. All classes will be divided in half wearing red or white.

My Field Day Site and Google Classroom will continue to be updated with relevant information.

*Please understand K-5 Spectators are NOT allowed during Field Day*

Parent Volunteers:

This year because of COVID we will be limiting our volunteers to only 15 each per day. If there are more than 15 volunteers for each day, parents will be chosen randomly. All volunteers are required to wear face coverings and follow state guidelines. I will be looking for availability from 8:15 am- 12:50 pm.

Volunteers will assist with:

  • Setting up and breaking down of stations

  • Running each station/gameplay and keeping score

  • Transitioning students from station to station

  • Sanitizing the equipment

  • Creating a fun filled and exciting day for the students

Stay well,

Michael Holl, Brookside Elementary School
