Knowing that this crisis is a genocide, we know that action has to be taken immediately. This is why it is our duty as Americans to take action.

America's influence on Islamophobia
After the terrorist attacks of 9/11, the anti-Muslim hate crimes jumped from 28 incidents in 2000 to 481 in 20o1. (Lisignnoli 2021) Ever since 9/11, terrorist had been the stereotype for Muslims in America. The terror in America had terrified the other nations as well, but terror wasn't the only thing spreading. America's hate for Muslims had grown so high it reached other nations as well.
Many may wonder on how Muslims as terrorists connect to China's persecution of Uyghur Muslims. Uyghur Muslims could be captivated for any reason, however it has been confirmed that China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi defended Chinas actions by stating it was a counterterrorist policy. (Tazamal 2019)
This exposes the fact that the effort against the Uyghurs in China are for "combatting terrorism." They are not combatting terrorism however, they are combatting innocent Muslims who are portrayed as terrorists around the world. Not the terrorists who did 9/11, but the "terrorists" America had created through the fear of Muslims. It shows how America has influenced China's genocide against the Uyghurs because they influenced the hate and terror against innocent Muslims. America is at fault for this genocide, so it is our responsibility to end it.
This is America.
This is America. The American Dream, the fights for justice that were fought, all make America stand out. Frederick Douglass once stated in his speech the Composite Nation that, "Our ships are in every sea, our commerce in every port, our language is heard all around the globe, steam and lightning have revolutionized the whole domain of human thought." Douglass implies here that America has taken over the world. America had it's ideals spread out across the world and started inspiring other nations. The worlds vision would revolve around the vision of America. As America moves in aid of the Uyghurs, the world will too.
America has been a land of justice since 1776, when this land's fathers decided they needed justice for themselves from the tyrants that oppressed them. However, this is a land of justice not because of the government, but because America is ruled by the people. It was only people who won the Revolutionary War. It was only people who ended slavery with their actions towards the movement. The American people have been fighting for justice since America was founded, so why don't they spread their ideals of justice towards China?
The genocide will reach it's peak anytime soon.
The genocide is reaching its deadliest stage, the Extermination stage. Many, if not all Uyghurs, will be extinguished in Xinjiang by then. This means 11 million people will die, the same amount of people as the Holocaust. If no one does anything soon, the Uyghur genocide will top the Holocaust as the worst genocide in history. No one seems to be doing anything, so action must take place soon. It is now the American duty to at least initiate the action towards the Uyghur genocide.
