Welcome WWA families! My name is Katie Fingland and I am the K-8 art teacher here at Woodrow Wilson Academy. I have been teaching art here since 2007, and love seeing students' creativity come to life. I believe all of our students have creative abilities, and look forward to helping them find and foster a love for creating. When I'm not in the Art room, I enjoy hanging with my 2 kids and husband--watching their soccer games, traveling, being in nature, and playing with our golden retriever, Sunny. I also love creating my own art outside of teaching, and have my own business selling my artwork and doing art classes and events. I can't wait to create with your artists!

This is how our school wide expectations of being Respectful, Responisble, and Ready look in the art room on a daily basis! Students can earn tickets in art class as well as anywhere in our school.
Our school is part of Artsonia, an online, world-wide, student art museum! After granting permission for your student’s work to be published, you will be able to view all their projects done in Art class from this year and the entirety of their WWA career. Each time an artwork is photographed and added to your student's account, you will receive an email notifying you of their work. There's also a gift shop where students/parents/family members can pick their favorite masterpiece and turn it into a canvas, a cell phone case, cards, tote bags, and much more! 20% automatically goes back to our art room! Please let me know if you have any questions.
