Athletic Clearance & Tryouts
Athletic Clearance: If you are already cleared from the summer, fall and/or winter sport, you do not need to fill out paperwork again. If you are not athletically cleared, follow the below handout and schedule your doctor appointment now, some take a while for an available appointment. You must be athletically cleared prior to tryouts.
New Athlete Tryouts @4pm at the Stadium
November 4th: Sprints, hurdles, all jumps: 3x60m
Boys (9th 8.3, 10th 8.0, 11th 7.7, 12th 7.4)
Girls (9th 9.3, 10th 9.0, 11th 8.7, 12th 8.4)
November 5th: Distance 1600 (Boys under 6:30 and girls under 7:30)
November 6th: Throw (30m sprint, backward overhead throw, standing long jump, underhand forward throw)
****If you are injured and cannot tryout, let me know so I can give you a different tryout date.****
Returners: Coach Thompson will post the returners list by October 3rd on this page, if you are not on the list check with Coach Thompson to see if there is a mistake or if you need to tryout.
Fall and winter sports (non-returners): Coach Thompson will send out an email prior to November 3rd inviting you to the track team.
Team Managers: Contact Coach Thompson if you are interested in being a Team Manager. You would be helping with the weekday meets and the Jim Polite Walnut Invitational.
Final Roster: Roster will be posted on our team website. If you think there is an error or have questions why you didn't make the team, please contact me ASAP.
