ELA Khan Academy – Khan Academy offers free English Language Arts practice that helps students improve reading, grammar, vocabulary, and writing skills.

Khan Academy is great for English Learners because you can work at your own pace, repeat lessons as needed, and review explanations when you get something wrong. It’s a safe, pressure-free way to build confidence and improve your skills.
Quizlet – Quizlet is a free study tool that helps students review vocabulary, key terms, and important concepts using flashcards and interactive games.
Students can:

Use “Learn” mode for guided practice

Duolingo - Duolingo is a free app and website that helps students practice language skills (English, Spanish, French, Mandarin, etc.) through short, interactive lessons.
Students can:

Practice vocabulary and sentence structure
Improve pronunciation
Learn through quick, game-like activities
Duolingo is especially helpful for English Learners because it allows students to build language skills in a fun, low-pressure way at their own pace.
Flexi - Flexi is a free AI tutor on CK-12 that helps students with math, science, and social studies questions. You can ask a question and get a step-by-step explanation to help you understand the concept — not just the answer.
Socratic - Students take a photo of a question or type it in. Provides step-by-step explanations and resources. Great for math, science, history, and English.
English Learners are fully capable of meeting A–G requirements and attending four-year universities.
Students are encouraged to begin planning early and ask questions often.
A national scholarship specifically for current or former English Learners graduating high school. Awards are typically $2,000 for college expenses. EL students who have been in an ELD/ELL program and plan to enroll full-time at a college/university or vocational school are eligible to apply.

Funded by the National Security Education Program (NSEP), the English for Heritage Language Speakers Scholarship Program covers tuition and provides a modest monthly stipend to native speakers of other languages who are seeking the opportunity to achieve professional proficiency in English for pursuing a career in the U.S. government. Preference will be given to native speakers of Arabic, Dari, Hausa, Hindi, Igbo, Mandarin Chinese, Pashto, Persian Farsi, Punjabi, Somali, Swahili, and Urdu who have English skills at level 2+ on the ILR scale.
