Philharmonia is an orchestra that is made up of 6th and 7th grade "non-beginning" string players. There are students who have been playing for one year, and students who have been playing for most of their lives. On this page, you will find the arrangements and compositions that the 2nd period Philharmonia students wrote. Some of the students had comments that they wanted included for their projects, so you will see these comments or explanations below their names.

Chloe Kim: My My https://www.noteflight.com/scores/view/8aa4caf7ecedba3d4294218bf38d192991d85583
I chose the song "My My" because I thought that the melody would fit really well with a violin and piano. I also thought the melody was really pretty.

Nathan Yu, Charlie He: Aria Math https://youtu.be/Tuv1CcWDqUY
We chose Aria Math from the Minecraft: Volume Beta soundtrack album because we liked the feel. It's not too energetic and not too calm. It could also be easily orchestrated so that we could incorporate lots of different instruments. It has a sort of melody, but it's not really a melody, which we thought was interesting. I'd suggest taking a listen to the original piece.

Katherine Beck: Style Change https://www.noteflight.com/scores/view/07e4f42d6df821aad273ef2c531c5fce229bf163
I named it Style Change because the style of the music keeps changing. For example it can go really fast or really slow, sound soothing or sound scratchy.
Shelby Chang: Doodoo https://www.noteflight.com/scores/view/68ac0f272f1650586bd741549a527c69a64020fb

Chloe Kim: Mirage https://www.noteflight.com/scores/view/4cc612489bbe4762bab4884cacf1a009cde09836
I chose to title this song "Mirage" because it sounds so mystical and magical, like the word mirage. If you imagine walking in a desert for an hour without any water, food, or camels, seeing what looks like a lake would feel awesome. It would look so magical. This song that I composed had a magical feeling in it so that is why I named it "Mirage"!
Tyler Mong: Spring or Something https://www.noteflight.com/scores/view/c4f651b334b73422442b367b018d515bce341a3f

Claire Song: Competition Vibes https://www.noteflight.com/scores/view/a15d2201fc4ba7c0181ab98da70bcce2e25ad014
I composed Competition Vibes while I was in a debate competition, thus the title, and the debate was getting extremely heated so I attempted to embody that vibe.
Brian Rossi, Ian Kang, Haydar Gemadi, Andy Yang: Totally Not Music https://www.noteflight.com/scores/view/ed5ad237ed75fb2a0b631adbff3a5f9deb0f78af
Neveah Chen, Aderlyn Ku, Janelle Hwang: The Cheerful Duckling https://www.noteflight.com/scores/view/57f9ba3efed6d25ea78a584503766530b57a616b
We made the song around the duck because it sounded like a duck waddling outside of the water, so we put in an oboe.
Veneta Yago, Kylie Angaala, Andrea Yang: Silver Chariot https://www.noteflight.com/scores/view/3d15ac4eb159a5f95f0ee95c803909a285cf8140

William Tung, Unitas Yu, Evan Auyeung: Weird https://musescore.com/user/34705610/scores/6632240/s/2_f_7F?share=copy_link
Nathan Yu, Charlie He: Way of Legends https://youtu.be/G1Uq2pmrcZk
We had the piccolo play a simple melody that went with the harmony we already had. We were trying to go for a medieval feel, like tavern music. The kind of improvised, last-minute melody created some surprisingly colorful dissonance with the chords underneath, so we kept it like that. We called it "Way of Legends" because it sounded like something you'd hear from a hero or legend story.
Emily Li, Elaine Gao, Sabrina Xu: Spring https://www.noteflight.com/scores/view/b059615f7aa0fb665aceae473214a1f28e2a692f
It is titled Spring because we thought that the rhythm sort of had a spring feeling, happiness and cheerful

Our Composition is supposed to be unplayable (if you try playing this, and successfully play it, you're better than Hilary Hahn...the best violinist in KALEL's opinion) )PLZzZ ENJOY THX
