AR reading is reading program where students read books and earn points. This program is meant to encourage you to become lifelong readers and hold accountability. AR Book Finder is a great resource to look up book levels, points, and etc.Independent Reading - AR Reading
Each “book” requires a 70% passing rate for an AR quiz. For example, if a book is worth 3 points and you earn between 70% - 100%, you will earn 3 points. This expectation will be split into two semesters, but the point expectation will increase in semester 2. Points do not roll over to semester 2.
Students who exceed point requirement do not earn extra credit. This to ensure students are reading daily throughout the year. AR Reading will be worth 15% of the overall grade. Students are expected to complete this assignment.
*Students assume full responsibility for any books borrowed from Mr. Tran’s library. Students must properly check out and in through Book Source. Please notify Mr. Tran if a book is lost or damaged.
