Mission Statement:

The Student Government Association of West Virginia University at Parkersburg advances the interests of the student body by promoting accountability, civic engagement, and open-minded representation of the students, while facilitating relations between students, administration, student and academic services.

Purpose:

The Student Government Association shall be the major body in assisting in the overall well-being of the students of West Virginia University at Parkersburg. The Student Government Association shall act affirmatively to improve student life, maintain a high quality of academic instruction, and enhance the image of West Virginia University at Parkersburg. The Student Government Association shall be recognized as the sole authorized agency through which student participation in college governance shall be made effective. The Student Government Association shall provide honest and accurate representation of the student body in all areas of student life.

History:

Student Government was established with the creation of WVU Parkersburg in 1961, and has continuously evolved to be the voice of the student body. It has been previously known as "ADCIL" and "EARS."
