● You are in charge of everything that happens in the house (audience, hallway, reception area, display case)
● Your busiest times will be at the beginning of a production to plan things and then during actual performances
● Must be a leader that is able to work with adults
● Must be able to react quickly without panic to problems that happen in audience or hallway.
Help with set up and decoration of hallway and reception area
In charge of all ushers and their training: handing out programs, how to show the audience to their seats, working with tickets
Open doors to audience members after getting confirmation from the sound booth that they are ready
Sit in back of auditorium and let people in and out of the door on the farthest right (so the light doesn’t shine into auditorium.) Use a flashlight to assist people to their seats as needed
Collect unwanted programs after show to recycle for next performance
Help in the reception area – clean up after the show and in the house.
Flash lights/ring bell at the end of intermission to signal/guide audience back to their seats.
