At Warrington & Vale College, Industry Placement will be an important part of every course for students aged 16–18. We believe that learning shouldn’t just happen in the classroom , students also need the opportunity to experience the world of work and understand how the skills they are developing can be applied in a real workplace.
Industry Placement gives students the chance to:
Gain valuable hands-on experience in a real working environment.
Develop confidence, communication and employability skills.
Understand what employers expect and what different careers are really like.
Build their CV and gain experience that can help them stand out when applying for jobs, apprenticeships or further study.
Make useful connections with employers and professionals in their chosen industry.
We also understand that starting a placement can feel like a big step, particularly for young people who may have little or no previous workplace experience.
That’s why we have a dedicated Industry Placement team who will support students throughout the process , from helping them prepare and find the right placement, through to providing ongoing guidance and support while they are there.
Our aim is for every student to leave college with not only their qualifications, but also real-world experience, greater confidence and a clearer understanding of their future opportunities.
