How did Park Ave Drama Club get started? Many parents and students were asking for a Drama Club! The PTA stepped up to purchase the royalties for the schools first drama club performance in many years. We performed Lion King Kids in November 2017 and the show was a huge success!
Why do we perform at Park Ave? When the club started at our small school, it was decided to keep it on the Park Ave stage to keep consistency from rehearsals to performance. We bring in professional lighting and sound people to make the stage light up and the students heard. They love being at their home school and performing for everyone!
Who can be involved? Any interested 3rd or 4th grade student attending Park Ave in Fall 2025
Does my child need to know how to dance? No! Each student will be taught their songs and choreography for the entire show during our weekly rehearsals.
How do the auditions work? There will be a panel of about 4-6 people that will be coaching and listening to the auditions. Each child will be given a schedule of times for each task which is listed in the audition tab.
How often will they meet? Every Wednesday and Friday and 3 Saturdays from September until the show
Are there fees? Students in drama club will have to pay a $45 Drama Club Production fee to help cover costs of costumes, set, royalties and materials purchased for fundraising items. This fee will also include a Park Ave Drama Club t-shirt for each member. We appreciate the PTA for helping fund and supporting this program! Please pay the production fee online this fall
Who will be running the program? Christy Brown, a MS music teacher will be overseeing the program along with PTA volunteers Amy Buliung, Lisa Fasano and Carolyn Weller but we will need MANY more volunteers!
What do rehearsals look like after school? Students will put their belongings in the gym. Students will have a few minutes for a snack and be in rehearsal until 5:30pm on Wed/Fridays.
Are all rehearsals mandatory even for ensemble members? Yes! With a short time to prepare for the big show, it is so important for each cast member to be there!
What can parents do to help? It truly takes a village to put on a musical! We need help with costumes, rehearsal volunteers and parents back stage for each show. Please plan on volunteering for at least something small!
How do I purchase tickets? Ticket information will be emailed
How long is the show? The show is appx 45 minutes
