Respiratory Viruses/Coronavirus

Guidance and Resources

COVID-19 remains an important public health threat, but according to the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), it is no longer the emergency it once was. COVID-19 health impacts increasingly resemble other respiratory viral illnesses, including influenza and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV). As the threat from COVID-19 becomes more similar to that of other common respiratory viruses, the CDC has updated its guidance to address risk from a range of common respiratory viral illnesses rather than providing additional virus-specific guidance. Information concerning the new CDC Respiratory Virus Guidance and other resources are available below. If you have questions, please contact Employee Relations at 304-414-1853 or DOPEmprelations@wv.gov.
