In our district, we use "Events" to track how often students and teachers interact with online tools. This helps us understand which platforms are accessed most frequently and how often they are used across our schools.
An Event is recorded each time a user interacts with a tool.
This includes actions like logging in, opening a page, clicking a link, or navigating within a site.
A higher number of events means a tool is accessed frequently, but it does not necessarily indicate how long a student spends engaged with it.
High Event Count: A tool is frequently visited and used for activities.
Low Event Count: A tool is used less often or may be supplementary to primary classroom resources.
Comparison Across Tools: You can compare different platforms to see what is used most by students and teachers.
The following tools had the highest number of events, meaning they were accessed the most:
ClassLink has the most events because it serves as a gateway to other tools, meaning students log in frequently.
Google Docs & Google Slides are widely used, showing that students are actively working on assignments and projects.
YouTube is heavily accessed, which may indicate the use of educational videos, but it’s worth checking what content is being used.
Tracking Events allows teachers and administrators to see which tools students rely on the most. This can help guide instructional decisions, ensure students are using the best platforms for learning, and highlight tools that may need additional support or training.
