I served in the army for 4 years on active duty and another 2 years in the reserves as a combat engineer. In the army I had many opportunities to travel to countries like Romania, England, and Germany. I have also visited many states, such as Washington, Maryland, Missouri, Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, New York, Iowa, Kansas, and many more! During my time in the army my mentor Sergeant Sandoval has taught me my life motto: "Adapt and Overcome." Although this year is different on many levels, I know that together we will adapt and overcome this life change.Â
As a first generation college student I had no idea what I was getting myself into or even how to navigate the college world. I was able to get my AA degree from Fullerton College and transfer to CSUF to obtain my BA degree. Following that is where I attended CSULB for my Masters of Science in School Counseling Degree. I have my amazing family and friends to thank for supporting me in my journey in becoming a school counselor.
