1. To develop in students the ability to think critically and creatively, to conceptualize, inquire and reason mathematically, and to use Mathematics to formulate and solve problems in daily life as well as in mathematical contexts and other disciplines;
2. To develop the capabilities of students in the number sense, symbol sense, spatial sense, measurement sense as well as the appreciation of structures and patterns;
3. To develop in students the ability to communicate with others and express their views clearly and logically in mathematical language;
4. To foster in students a positive attitude towards Mathematics learning and the appreciation of the aesthetic nature and cultural aspects of Mathematics;
5. To raise students’ academic attainment, and to further add value to their learning in Mathematics;
6. To further enhance teachers’ professionalism in Mathematics teaching.
