Intangible cultural heritage (ICH) covers various cultural traditions of our daily life, including oral traditions and expressions, performing arts, social practices, rituals and festive events, knowledge and practices concerning nature and the universe, and traditional craftsmanship.
The ICH Mobile Exhibition, organized by the Intangible Cultural Heritage Office, was held in our school from 25 May to 27 May. With efforts of our Chinese History Department and History Department, our students were arranged to visit the exhibition and enjoy the interactive facilities in the mobile ICH station.
A series of educational ICH activities, such as ‘ICH AR Workshop’, ‘ICH Game Booth’, ‘ICH Mobile Curator’, ‘ICH Big Stage’, and ‘ICH Handicraft Workshop’ were also held at our school alongside the mobile exhibition. Students joined the activities actively and learnt to appreciate and preserve Hong Kong’s intangible cultural heritage.

F.4 and F.5 students History and Geography students visited the Legoland Discovery Centre on 3rd July. Students learned about the concepts of conservation and earthquake through the workshops there.
The ‘Miniland’ exhibited Lego models of famous landmarks in Hong Kong, such as the Court of Final Appeal, the Bank of China Tower, and the HSBC Building, this offers students a chance to learn about the history of Hong Kong interactively.
Students are divided into groups to make their model of famous landmarks worldwide. Some groups used Lego bricks to make the Great Pyramid of Giza, the White House, the Berlin Wall, and the Arc de Triomphe, etc. After making the models, students brought their building to the ‘Build Test’ interactive zone to test the earthquake resistance level of their Lego historical building.
Students experienced how to use Lego bricks creatively to make historical buildings that can preserve the memory of the past and understand the features of earthquake-proof buildings through Lego bricks.
