PolyU Junior Researcher Mentoring Programme
Our Form 5 student, Tseung Yan Tung, participated in the PolyU Junior Researcher Mentoring Programme 2024 from April to August with her research project titled “An edge AI-based AR system for hand hygiene training in undergraduates of health-related disciplines”, receiving guidance from PolyU academics. Congratulations to Yan Tung for the precious learning experience!
Workshops and Talks on Traditional Chinese Medicine
Our Form 3 and Form 4 students participated in a series of engaging workshops and lectures as part of the "One School One Traditional Medicine Garden" programme organized by THEi. They learned about traditional herbal remedies in a lecture on herbal ointments and had hands-on experience creating Ziyun Ointment. In another session, students explored the cultivation of Chinese herbs and made their own herbal soap. Additionally, they delved into the benefits of herbal planting while crafting the famous Liuwei Dihuang Pill. These activities enriched their knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine and fostered their appreciation for herbal practices in our community.
Merit Prize in Hong Kong Science Fair
Four of our Form 5 Biology students participated in Hong Kong Science Fair organized by Hong Kong Innovation Foundation and obtained a Merit Prize in the Senior Form category with their project named “Savior”, a self-operated insect hotel using the Arduino program aiming to boost the population of native insects and plants having declined due to urban development and climate change. Biotechnology Laboratory Visit and Workshop
Some of our Forms 2 to Form 5 students had the opportunity to visit the DreamTec WHO GMP Laboratory and participate in a biotechnology workshop, in which they learnt about induced pluripotent cells, anti-aging research, as well as techniques such as gram staining and bacterial cell culture.
