Band FAQ

How do I join Band?

See Mrs. Maneri on how to join! You will need to be added to two quarters of class during the year, as well as attend weekly rehearsals.

Can I join if I've never played an instrument?

Of course! With dedication and practice, we are always happy to welcome new players.

Can I be in Band and Choir?

YES!! The music department does a wonderful job of allowing students to be in both ensembles.  You can even be signed up for both classes at the same time.

Do I need to buy an instrument?

By middle school, I suggest that students own or rent their instrument to guarantee that they can participate.  However, we do have some school instruments for students to use. Music & Arts rental information

My child doesn't want to participate in performances, can they still be in band?

Unforunately, band is a performing elective.  Our students work together as a group to work towards our yearly performances; each student being an important part of our ensemble.  All band students are expected to perform at concerts. 

When are weekly rehearsals?

All weekly rehearsals are on Thursdays.  7th/8th grade rehearsals are 7:15-8:05 AM. 6th grade rehearsals are 3:05-4:00 PM. YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED WHEN REHEARSALS BEGIN. See the CALENDAR for more information.
