Minor Assessment (Homework) – 30% of Grade
Assignments will be given at least 3-4 times a week. Often I will allow students to do
their homework 15 minutes before the end of class. I do promote being responsible with work sent home, but learning disabilities can cause severe disorganization and forgetfulness. Therefore, I often see textbooks, notebooks, pencils, and homework lost and never found again.
If absent, the student is responsible for getting, completing, and submitting any missed
assignments. (they can be found in the classwork tab of Google Classroom)
Each student has their file as well.
Homework is done by a check system (ex. Check ++ = 100, check + = 85, check = 78, check- = 72, check - - = 65. )
Minor Assessment (Quizzes/Classwork/Class Participation ) –20% of Grade
Students are expected to take an active part in classroom-generated discussions and group activities. Only comments relevant to the subject matter being taught are acceptable. Being prepared for class with all materials falls under this category.
Major Assessment (Test & Binders) – 50% of grade
Tests tend to be given every 3 to 4 sections of a chapter throughout the marking periods
A different variety of tests will be given, depending upon the child's needs
Tests will be announced at least three days before the test date
Monthly binder checks are done to help develop organizational skills.
