Take a quiz or test for you.
Pretend that AI-generated work is your own.
Copy and paste AI answers into an assignment without permission.
Avoid doing your own research or reading.
Create fake sources, quotes, or historical information.
Use AI to get around the purpose of an assignment.
If an assignment says "No AI," you may not use AI for any part of that assignment.
If your teacher allows you to use AI, you may be asked to:
Tell your teacher that you used AI.
Explain how you used it.
Check the information against reliable sources.
Correct any mistakes you find.
Be prepared to explain the work in your own words.
Your teacher may ask you to submit the AI prompt or response along with your assignment.
History requires us to examine evidence carefully. AI can sometimes:
Give incorrect dates or facts.
Confuse people or events.
Make up quotes or sources.
Leave out important perspectives.
Present opinions as facts.
Therefore, AI is not a historical source by itself. When researching American history, use reliable sources such as textbooks, primary sources, museums, libraries, and teacher-approved websites.
Using AI to do work that you were expected to complete yourself is considered academic dishonesty.
If you are unsure whether you may use AI, ask your teacher before using it. Asking is always better than guessing.
