BIRTHDAY AND HOLIDAY CELEBRATIONS
To ensure the health and safety of our students, only commercially prepared foods, with labeled ingredients, are permissible for classroom celebrations. Please remember that our school is “allergy aware”; all foods brought to school for birthday and holiday celebrations must be peanut- and treenut-free. Parents are strongly encouraged to provide food and beverages that are low in fat and low in sugar. To that end, the following is a list of items recommended for classroom celebrations:
Fruits and vegetables with low fat dressing
Crackers, Goldfish (original) or Cheez-its
Baked chips, pretzels, Sun Chips (original flavor)
Soft Pretzels or Pretzel Nuggets (e.g. Philly Pretzel Factory)
Low fat yogurt
Cheese or Cheese sticks
Teddy grahams or animal crackers
Sugar- free ice pops or frozen fruit bars.
Water or 100% juice
All food coming into the school must be dropped off at the main office to be checked by the nurse before being allowed in the classroom.
NO DECORATIONS OR GOODIE BAGS WILL BE PERMITTED.
