As per the Woodbridge Township Grading Policy, all minor assessments (homework, class work, and quizzes) will be assigned numerical grades. Those numerical grades will be averaged together; that average will count as 2/3 of the report card grade for each marking period. The numerical average of all major assessments (tests/ major projects) will count as 1/3 of the report card grade for each marking period.
All submitted student work will receive a minimum score of 50, unless determined by the teacher that little or no effort was made by the student, in which case a lower numerical mark may be given and recorded. If work is not submitted a zero (0) will be issued.
Plagiarism refers to the act of submitting work with someone else's ideas and passing them off as your own. In school, plagiarism most often looks like coping work from a friend, having someone other than the student complete an assignment, or copying information from the internet or another source without giving credit to the original author. Plagiarism in any form will not be tolerated. For the first plagiarism offense, a meeting with guidance, the teacher and the student will take place. The parent/guardian will be notified and it will be expected that the assignment be redone; however, the highest value to be earned after plagiarism is a 74 (C-). If there are subsequent offenses of plagiarism there will be a meeting with the parent/guardian and the assignment will receive a 0.
Finally, any situation involving other methods of cheating will result in a mark of zero (0).
