All About Miss Stephen

PE basketball

Hello Matthew Jago School! I am so excited to be your Physical Education and Health Teacher.

I am a lifelong resident of Sewaren and attended Matthew Jago School as a child. I feel incredibly lucky to have been hired in 2004 to teach in the same school i attended and I love that you will leave MJS with the same happy experiences that i was given as a child. The teachers and staff at school 28 work hard everyday to make sure that you know how important and special you are to all of us. Your education matters and having fun and making friends is all part of the journey. We promise to keep you safe and help you learn as much as you can while with us in class or virtually on the computer at home. And when you graduate and move on to a new school we hope you come back and visit us and remember all the memories you made at MJS.

Woodbridge School District Changes for the 2020-2021 school year . I will now be teaching one class of PE and one class of health for grades 1-5. Please pay close attention to which day is health and which day is PE. Sneakers are required for PE.

In PE one day a week you will learn to play safe and share. You will learn how important exercise can be and to practice the sports of soccer, basketball, volleyball, golf, baseball, track, and fitness.

In health we will now spend one day a week depending on your grade level learning topics that include the food pyramid, feelings, senses, mental emotional and physical health, bones and muscles, unsafe behaviors, character traits, injuries, making responsible decisions, and peer pressure.

I am part of the safety team at school and help with loading and unloading of school buses each day and to ensure we are all safe and organized. I help with the safety drills so you know how to properly get on and off buses.

I am an aftercare teacher for our school district and leave MJS each day and head to Lynn Crest school #22 in Colonia to help children have a safe, fun and organized place to go after school.

I also am proud of the work i do for our summer program PACE and look forward to it each year.

I attended Kean University and played softball.

I work hard everyday to ensure that you will always remember that MJS IS THE BEST!!!!

LETS HAVE A GREAT YEAR!! PE RULES!
