Attendance: Attendance in the block schedule is critical. Students are responsible for acquiring all missed notes, handouts, and homework when absent.
Major Assessments: Tests and Alternative (Major) assessments will count as 50% or your grade.
Tests will be given during the first unit. All tests are made up of objective (multiple-choice) and essay portions. Students absent the day before a test will be required to take the test as planned. Students absent on the day of an assessment will be required to make it up either before or after school within one week of the original test date
Alternative Assessments will take place consistently throughout the semester. Students will be required to make submit outlines, timelines, presentations, and the like. Students absent on the day an assessment is due will be required to make it up/hand it in the following class period.
Minor Assessments: Individual and Group (Minor) assignments will be given regularly and count as 50% of your grade. Any assignment handed in past its due date will receive a maximum score of a B. The assignment will lose one additional grade for each additional day late. A “broken” or “out-of-ink” printer is an unacceptable excuse for late work.
