Attitude
Coming to class every day with a positive mental attitude will enable you to fully benefit from this course. No person ever does top-quality work if they are concerned with other matters.
Participation
One of the ways I can assess a student’s understanding of the course work is by the student’s level of participation. SIMPLY COMING TO CLASS DOES NOT FULFILL THE COURSE REQUIREMENTS. Good, active participation is essential. BELIEVE ME, MYSELF AND YOUR PEERS WANT TO HEAR WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY. Participation also means coming to class with the items you need for the day—Chromebook, notebook, and writing utensil.
Homework
The key to any student’s success in my class is for them to complete homework tasks when they are assigned. To strongly exhibit pride in your work, you must devote sufficient time to its accomplishment. OUTSTANDING WORK WILL ALWAYS BE REWARDED IN MY CLASS! Homework will be assigned on a daily basis.
Guidelines for All Written Work
Be sure to include your name on all papers with the date.
Title paper at top-center with name of assignment or essay.
Write legibly! I need to be able to read your writing to grade it.
You may type any assignment, as long as it is double-spaced, Times New Roman, Arial, or Calibri font, and size 12.
All major assignments must be typed in the aforementioned format.
Points will be deducted for each use of “wanna,” “gonna,” “IDK,” “b/c,” etc.
Use capital letters to begin sentences, for proper nouns, and for book titles.
Book titles are underlined. Short story and poem titles are either italicized or put in quotation marks—not both.
