Health Contract
Health is all about the student. Topics include real life situations for teens. Health is a required course to graduate.
Course Objectives: Students will engage in a wide array of learning opportunities that will include but not be limited to: group interaction, role- playing, active research, films, and an assortment of other educational exercises.
● Students will explore various aspects of mental health, nutrition, eating disorders, drugs, alcohol, reproduction, relationships and making healthy choices.
● Students will be able to apply concepts learned throughout the course to everyday life.
Grading:
Students will be graded using an array of different criteria, including:
Classwork& Homework: Students will be given the opportunity to complete in class assignments and work that will need to be completed at home. All assignments will have a point value. Late assignments will be accepted for partial credit.
Preparation: Students are expected to come to class on time, prepared to work. It is expected that they have a pen/pencil, chromebook, notebook and folder.
Participation: Students are expected to be active participants in class activities and discussions. Students will be asked to present group projects as part of their grade.
Attendance: If you are absent from this class be sure to check Google Classroom and your classmates to see what work was missed. All missed work must be handed in the next day. More than 2 absences will result in a loss of credit.
Behavior: All students are expected to come to class on time, listen carefully, follow directions, bring required materials, use appropriate speech and language, respect and support the learning of others, and take care of the learning environment. Cell phones should be put away for the entire class unless otherwise directed. Anyone seen on their phone will be written up.
Parents will be contacted via email if there is an issue with student performance during the cycle.
