National Honor Society Chapter 13910
National Honor Society is based on the four pillars (scholarship, leadership, service and character).
Scholarship - students are extended an invitation to apply for NHS based on meeting the academic requirements for our chapter. They must meet a minimum number of credits, quality points (based on class schedule), and GPA (weighted -3.3).
**Scholarship opportunities are available to members once registered on NHS website**
Leadership & Service- Initially, invited applicants must meet a minimum number of activities based on their grade (11 or 12) and there are certain requirements that these activities and the students' commitment to them must meet. Leadership positions weigh more heavily than standard membership.
**Members are required to participate in TWO lunch tutorings and TWO approved community services per semester to maintain membership**
Character- During this application process, students must meet a minimum average score of the 10 from 10 teacher responses based on standard character form and have no instances of academic dishonesty, cheating, and/or plagiarism, including but not limited to overall candidates' record. There is a zero tolerance policy for any instances of such.
**Members must uphold to these standards or risk losing membership status**
Members are selected from a panel of 5 committee members. The committee reviews each applications to ensure they comply with the standards of NHS, as listed in the by-laws, leading to the final decision for each candidate.
**Members & parents/guardians must sign by-laws in google form via google classroom at the beginning of each year (seniors) / semester (juniors)** Copy of By Laws & Plagiarism Policy
