Patriot Perk – Our Classroom Coffee Cart!

We’re proud to run Patriot Perk, our very own student-run coffee cart here at CHS! As part of our Life Skills program, students spend time each week learning how to plan, prepare, and deliver coffee orders to our amazing school staff.

Here’s how it works:

• Thursdays are prep days. Students practice skills like taking inventory, organizing materials, preparing order forms, and setting up the cart.
  
  

• Fridays are delivery days! During their Life Skills block, students make and serve coffee and other beverages to CHS staff throughout the building.
  
  

This project provides students with real-world experience in:

• Vocational skills – following steps in a task, working as a team, handling materials, and managing time
  
  

• Social skills – greeting staff, taking orders, using polite conversation, and working with peers
  
  

• Functional academics – using money, reading order forms, counting, measuring, and sequencing
  
  

• Responsibility and independence – completing jobs from start to finish and taking pride in their work
  
  

Patriot Perk is more than just coffee—it's a meaningful opportunity for our students to build confidence, contribute to the school community, and practice job-readiness skills in a fun and engaging way.
