Second grade is a joyous journey filled to the brim with creative activities, challenging curriculum, and opportunities to build social skills and special friendships. These experiences will continue to hone the skills essential to become lifelong learners, strong critical thinkers, team players, and loyal friends. I’m passionate about creating a safe environment that also promotes strong work ethic, responsibility, respect for diversity, and both independent and team-driven learning. Each day, I aim to use a variety of instructional strategies and resources to meet the individual needs present in our classroom. Last, but not least, learning will be engaging and fun! It won't be long until you hear all about our Fantastic Fact of the Day! I've learned as an experienced educator, sometimes the biggest impact you can have on a child can occur outside of the classroom. I make frequent trips to recess during my lunch break to play catch, run around, and talk with all our little learners. Aside from preparing my second graders for academic success in third grade and beyond, I strive for their second-grade experience to become a meaningful and impactful memory that they look back on and smile throughout life.
My name is Brian Weitz, and I’m your child's second grade teacher for the 2023/24 school year. My education includes a Bachelor of Arts from Rutgers University and a Master's in Teaching Elementary Education from Montclair State University. I've been an elementary teacher in the Woodbridge Township School District for several years, and I can truly say I love my job! Outside of the classroom, I am a competitive distance runner who races half marathons and marathons as a member of the Garden State Track Club. I am a diehard sports fan who roots for the New York Knicks, Yankees, Giants, and Rutgers Athletics. Last but not least, I’m a dedicated family man that adores spending time with my wife, four-year-old son, two-year-old daughter, and and lovable pug. I look forward to getting to know you and your family during our educational journey together this year.
