Mrs. Rosemarie Singalewitch has been drawing and painting since the age of 9, taught by a great-uncle with a love of art and a passion for Picasso. Her preferred media for expression are painting, ceramics and fibers/textiles. She earned a BA in Fine Art and an MA in Fine Art Education from Kean University. Her master's thesis, Challenges and Fulfillment: Determining the Factors that Contribute to the Successful Classroom Experiences of Students with Learning Disabilities in the Fine Arts, was published in 2010 by VDM Verlag Publishers, Saarbracken, Germany and her work received the Graduate Research Award from Kean University in 2010. Mrs. Singalewitch has spent the last 14 years engaged in action research relating to accurate, effective student assessment and growth measurements. She has traveled to various parts of the U.S. as a seminar teacher for the ceramic industry including Ceramic Arts Teaching Seminars (CATS) and Colors for Earth, and she is currently designing and teaching in the decorative painting industry for DecoArt Americana and Artful Webinars. A former teacher at Our Lady of Peace School in Fords, NJ and the Purnell School in Pottersville, NJ, she joined the staff of Colonia High School in 2010. Mrs. Singalewitch is a former adjunct professor in the Fine Arts Department of Kean University, co-chair of the Woodbridge Township High School Task Force, Communications Chair for the Woodbridge Township Education Association, and exhibits and sells her artwork.
