We use the voice level chart to be aware of the voice level within the classroom. When a light is turned on, it give students a signal to follow which voice level is allowed during the current activity.
In our class, we use hand signals throughout the day to communicate specially. These hand signals help our class run smoothly throughout the day!
Classroom jobs help us build responsibilities within the classroom. We change jobs the start of every week on Mondays. If the week is shorten, the students with jobs the previous week, keep those jobs until the next week ends.
"In our classroom" is posted to show students and visitors what our classroom expectations are on a daily basis. This is the reality of our daily activities in room 235 of third grade.
Our sharpening station is divided into the sharp and dull bin. Students are asked to place pencils that need to be sharpened in the dull bin and take from the sharp bin to use while waiting. The pencil sharpener is a classroom job. This person sharpens the pencils in the beginning of the day during Do Now and Morning work. The extra copies folder/bin holds all copies of worksheets and activities that are given out. If a student loses something or needs to redo an assignment, they can go to the extra copies folder/bin. The folder/bin is emptied at the end of each marking period.
Our class expectations help us learn, respect each other, our surrounding areas and keep us safe. Rules establish a level of expectations within the classroom for students to follow. These expectations help our students learn and grow together every day in third grade.
Every time a student is absent from class, the Absent Folder will be placed on their desk for the day. During the day, the folder will be filled with any flyers, activities, and assignments that was missed for the day. When the student returns, all work will be gone over with the student and a due date will be established. The blue absent folder form will be signed and returned when all work is completed.
