Dear Parents/Guardians,
I am very excited to work with your students this year alongside the rest of the FMS staff. You may wonder "why is my child seeing the school counselor?". Some of the things our students come to us about are (but are not limited to) grades, their schedule, attendance, educational planning, behaviors, issues at home, social/friendship issues, high school transitions, stress management, changes in the family, death, divorce, bullying and making appropriate decisions.
Students have a level of confidentiality when they are speaking with their school counselor. Things that are discussed are not shared unless they are hurting themselves, someone is hurting them, they want to hurt someone or they gave me permission to share with you or a trusted adult.
As your child's counselor, I hope we can work together for the overall well-being of your student. Please feel free to contact me about any concerns about school work, friendships, and/or anything else that may be affecting their overall wellbeing. If you need any resources to help your student please feel free to reach out to discuss how I can help.
We can work as a team for the overall success of your student's social and emotional health as well as their education.
Please feel free to call or email me if you have any questions or concerns for your student.
