ASLHS EXPECTATIONS
We want to make this club fun and enjoyable for all of us, however, there are rules and expectations to follow in order to make ASLHS at (school) a success. Please review the expectations below and sign the contact on a separate piece of paper stating you read, understand and agree to the expectations given.
ASLHS Expectations:
The applicant must be a regularly enrolled student of CHS (grades 9-12).
Taken AT LEAST three semesters of ASL at the high school level.
Maintained an overall B+ grade or better in all ASL classes and all other academic subjects.
Students must be enrolled in ASL level 3 or 4 during the school year of induction.
Attend meetings and cannot miss more than 3 meetings per year. If this requirement is not met after the 3rd meeting, your name will be removed from the roster and will be considered an inactive member of this club. If you have any reason you cannot make it to a meeting, communicate with Ms. Hartlieb and the president of ASLHS.
Complete a total of 5-10 hours of community service hours throughout the school year
Participate ASLHS 2 years or more
Participate in different events hosted by ASLHS
Maintain GPA requirements in order to stay active in this club. GPA requirements do vary based on the sponsor and our asl graduation medals/scholarship requirement. Please review it on https://www.aslhonorsociety.org/GraduationHonors.html
ASLHS Officers are to collaborate and provide clear communication with members. Officers are also to acknowledge and fulfill their own duties in order to provide a strong leadership in this club
Officers: President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer or any job role you feel that fits your local needs.
Communicate in ASL in all events, meetings, etc. Please bring deaf culture etiquette in your meetings.
Participate and have a GOOD time! Remember, we are a family and we treat each other the way we want to be treated.
