Dear Parents and Guardians,

My name is Amy Weitz, and I am excited to serve as your child’s Academic Coach this year. With 15 years of teaching experience in the district, I am thrilled to return to Lynn Crest School. I am Orton-Gillingham certified and have extensive experience in small-group reading instruction, which I will use to support your child’s growth and confidence as a learner.

At the start of the year, all students completed screening assessments to help us better understand their academic needs. Based on these results, your child may benefit from additional support in Language Arts. While they will continue to receive differentiated instruction in their classroom, our small-group sessions will provide targeted strategies to strengthen skills and ensure progress toward grade-level expectations. Ongoing assessments may be used to guide instruction, and I will collaborate closely with your child’s classroom teacher to adjust support as needed.

This year, I will use a variety of research-based programs and approaches in our small-group work, including the Science of Reading, Orton Gillingham, the University of Florida Literacy Institute, Benchmark Phonics Intervention, and Leveled Literacy Intervention (LLI).

My goal is to provide the highest quality instruction and resources to support your child’s success. I will consistently monitor progress and communicate with you and your child’s teacher to ensure growth and achievement.
