Hello! My name is Mrs. Tighe (pronounced like TIE) and 2025-26 will be my tenth year as a full-time teacher at Mawbey Street School and my eighth year in 4th grade. I received my BA in English Education from Rowan University and previously taught 7th and 8th grade Language Arts for 7 years before taking a break to raise my children.

I have a son and a daughter who attended Mawbey Street School. My son, a 2019 graduate of WHS and a 2021 graduate of Middlesex College, graduated New Jersey City University with a major in supply chain management in May 2023. My daughter, a 2021 graduate of Woodbridge High School, graduated Middlesex College as New Jersey STARS recipient with an education major in December 2022. In May 2025, she graduated Summa Cum Laude from Kean University with a degree in elementary education/teacher of students with disabilities. She will begin her teaching career this year in Garwood.

I enjoy spending time with my family, shopping, traveling, and reading in my spare time. My favorite animal is the giraffe, I love the color blue, and I would never want to live in a world without CHOCOLATE! I also can't wait to learn about my students this year.
