Nice to Meet You!

Hi! My name is Katie Simon, and I am so excited to be your child’s 5th grade teacher for the 2026–2027 school year! This will be my fourth year teaching in the Woodbridge Township School District.

I grew up right here in Fords and spent many years playing softball for the town. One of my favorite things about teaching at Lafayette Estates School #25 is getting to see the very softball field I grew up playing on every day. It feels pretty special to now be teaching in the same community that I grew up in!

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in English from Kean University and my Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Walden University. I have always had a passion for working with children and love creating a classroom where students feel welcomed, supported, and excited to learn.

Outside of school, I love spending time with my family: my husband, Evan, our new baby girl, Sadie, and our pup, Jax! I also enjoy reading, spending time with family and friends, and making memories together.

I am looking forward to getting to know each of my students and their families and having a wonderful year together. I truly believe that communication between home and school is an important part of a successful school year, so please never hesitate to reach out.
