Hi! I'm Mrs. Peitz. I am thrilled to be teaching fifth grade again this year. As a proud graduate of School #23, Avenel Middle School, and Colonia High School, I love working in Woodbridge Township.
After high school, I attended Moravian College in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania to pursue my dream of becoming a teacher. Following graduation, I taught in Catholic schools for 14 years. In 2016, I joined the School #25 faculty.
As a teacher, I believe that elementary school is an important foundation for a child's future. During elementary school, students begin to learn about who they are and what subjects they are passionate about. I have high expectations for all of my students. As one of their teachers, I work hard to learn about each student as an individual so that I can help them pursue their educational goals. Throughout the school year, students will be provided with a variety of learning activities that help them gain a deep understanding of what they are learning.
Our main focus in fifth grade is ELA (English Language Arts) and math. We will read and write in every subject every day. During our ELA block, we will focus on reading strategies, building vocabulary, and writing with fluency. In fifth grade math, we will focus on three main topics: geometry, fractions and decimals. The Science curriculum is a survey course that includes life science, earth science, and physical science. The Social Studies curriculum covers early history of the United States. The home school connection is very important. Please feel free to contact me at any time with questions, concerns, or comments about your child. My preferred method of contact is via email at: cathleen.peitz@wtsdnj.com. I can also be reached by calling the school office at 732-596-4143. You can also keep up to date on your child's academic progress through Genesis.
I am looking forward to the 2025-2026 school year.
