Classroom Expectations

Classroom Rules:

1. Be to class on time! 

   • We get started right away and if you’re late to class, you will miss out on valuable time and also could face disciplinary actions!

2. Be prepared for class!

   • Always make sure you have everything for class! Notebooks, pencils, chromebooks (fully charged) are essential pieces for success in this class!

3. Be ready to work!

   • You will be learning many new topics this year and it will take a lot of hard work to master them. If you are always ready to work, you will be successful!

4. Be respectful in class!

   • While we are working, or I am in the middle of a lesson, there should be no talking, fooling around, playing on chromebooks, leaving the room.

   • Like I said above, you will be learning a lot of new topics this year and you don’t want to miss out on the lessons!

5. DO YOUR HOMEWORK!!

   • The key to reinforcing lessons and understanding the material given each day is by making sure you practice on your own whenever the chance is there! If you don’t do your homework, you are not setting yourself up for success in this class!

Everyday procedures:

1. When you walk in, you are to find your seat and have yourself set up and ready to go for the Do Now when the bell rings.

2. The Do Now will consist of a few questions to get our brains going and will take around 10-12 minutes to complete.

   • Do Nows are timed and once the time is up, you are done!

   • While you are working on the Do Now, I will be checking homework from the night before, if we had it. 

3. After the Do Now, we will grade/go over the Do Now.

4. If we had homework the night before, we would then go over that.

5. Lesson time!!

   • You are expected to take notes

   • ASK QUESTIONS!! (don’t be nervous to ask!)

   • No one will be allowed to leave the room during the lesson! (unless it's an emergency!)

6. (time permitting) Work on homework!!

What do you need for class?

1. A PENCIL!!

   • Not a pen, not a marker, A PENCIL!! 

   • Having an extra would be great.

   • Having a big eraser would also be great.

2. Do Now/In-class graded assignment notebook

   • This notebook will be staying IN MY CLASSROOM!!

   • It will not be used for notes.

   • It will not be used for homework.

   • This notebook is for the Do Now and In-class assignments ONLY!!

   • Once those assignments are done, the notebook will be collected and put away in the designated area.

3. Notebook for notes/homework

   • You will need a separate notebook for your notes and homework.

   • Having a notebook just for math class would be preferred.

   • You must bring this every day to class.

4. Chromebook

   • We might not use this as much this year, but it will still be needed from time to time, so please make sure you bring it.

   • MAKE SURE IT IS CHARGED!!!! 

     • If it's not charged, it can’t be used, and you could miss out participation points for the day.
