Nice to meet you! My name is Ron Pruitt, and I am thrilled to be in my sixth year here in Woodbridge, and my eleventh as a teacher!
I currently reside in Avenel, and I grew up in Fords and Colonia. It is truly a pleasure to be working with students and teachers in my home community! Prior to teaching in Woodbridge Township, I spent four years as an elementary choir director in the Matawan-Aberdeen School District. I was also previously a director of string orchestras in South Brunswick, as well as a substitute teacher. I also currently teach at the Music Forever school in Edison, and I am the 2nd Alto Saxophonist for the Silver Starlite Orchestra, a traditional 17-piece swing band in northern New Jersey!
I received my degree in music education from The College of New Jersey, and there I was instilled with a passion for performing, teaching, and achieving musical excellence, both for myself and my students. Aside from music, I also love traveling, cooking, reading books of all kinds, and spending time with my son, James, and my wife, Marissa, who also happens to be one of Woodbridge's great vocal music teachers!
Now that you know a little bit about me, I can't wait to get to know you, too!
