Meet the Teacher

Mr. McCann has been teaching Social Studies at Fords Middle School for twenty-one years. He is an active traveler who has been to thirteen different countries and thirty-five different U.S. states. He loves learning new things and sharing his experiences with his students. He currently teaches sixth grade United States History.

Mr. McCann is a Gilder-Lehrman Scholar, conducting ongoing graduate level studies in American History, Global History, and is currently a PhD candidate majoring in the History of Science.

Woodbridge Township History Award

In the Spring of 2019, Mr. McCann, Mrs. Cason, Mr. Evangelista, and Mrs. Delloiacono lead our 6th Grade history students in the Woodbridge Township 350th Anniversary History Contest, to a first place win in the township for our school, by creating the 'Township History Quilt' which was displayed at the Barron Arts Center.

Mr. McCann is a 3rd Degree Black Belt, in the Japanese martial art of Aikido. 

He is a Member of two honor societies including Kappa Delta Pi (National Honor Society for Teaching) and Phi Alpha Theta (National Honor Society for History)
