Hey there class! I'm Mr. Ahmed, and I'll be your ELA teacher this year. I’m super excited to dive into some awesome stories and writing with you all. I graduated from JFK High School—Go Mustangs!—and went to Fords Middle School and Lafayette Estates School #25, so we’re probably rivals, but I promise we’ll get along!
I studied English at Rutgers University and got my Master's in English Language Arts Education from Rutgers Graduate School of Education. I've been gearing up for the start of our school year for a while now, and I can’t wait to share what I've learned. We’re going to have a blast exploring English together, and I’m really looking forward to sharing this academic journey with you!
My teaching philosophy is centered on empowering students to become critical thinkers and active civic members of society.
I believe in fostering a classroom environment where every student's diverse background and perspective are valued, encouraging curiosity, empathy, and collaboration to help them reach their full academic and social potential.
If you ever have any questions or concerns or just want to chat about something important, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me via email or find me in person. I’m here to support you and ensure we’re all on the same page.
Whether it’s about classwork, something going on at school, or anything else on your mind, I’m more than happy to set up a time to meet and discuss it.
Just shoot me an email, and we’ll find a time that works best!
