Hello Class!
Welcome to Biology! I'm looking forward to meeting and working with every one of you this year. Have a great 2026-2027 school year, and remember to do your best!
What is Biology?
Biology is the study of life, and it is the branch of science that covers all living things. Different topics in biology include genetics (the study of inheritance and DNA), microbiology (the study of microscopic organisms like bacteria and algae), ecology (the study of ecosystems and the environment), virology (the study of viruses), zoology (the study of animals), botany (the study of plants), and the list goes on and on. In this class, we will study the building blocks of life, cells, and how they function on the microscopic level and how they work together to form living things. We will then move into genetics, ecology, evolution, and virology. Biology is an expansive field of science that we will only just begin to explore!
