I have been a member of the Business Education Teaching Team here at JFK for 14 years. I came here after 2 years teaching in the Plainfield School District.
I earned my Bachelors in Accounting at Rutgers University and Masters in Business Administration at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale while I was living in Florida.
Regardless of the course I am teaching, I draw on a wide range of business and personal experiences in illustrating chapter topics to advance student learning. I began my career performing Fund Accounting in the not-for-profit space. I moved onto the corporate arena for nearly 20 years performing roles at both headquarter and field organization levels in General Accounting, Financial Analysis, Business Unit Partnering, and Large System Integration Program Finance. I additionally have experience in the Small Business space.
My not-for-profit time was at the Archdiocese of Newark, my corporate experience comes from positions at Digital Equipment Corporation, Compaq Computers, and Johnson and Johnson. I am a former owner of Colonia Flowers and Fruit Baskets which gave me direct insights into the processes and obstacles faced by small businesses. I also currently serve as Financial Advisor to my wife’s Management Consulting Business.
Through the integration of these varied experiences into my courses I strive to enhance student learning, beyond the book and bring in real world applications for the topics we’re discussing.
