Come prepared to class every day. This will require you to bring your chrome book, binder/notebook, assigned text, and something to write with.
We use phones and personal headphones for many different reasons in this class; however, you will receive a a zero for the day if you have your phone or headphones out during classroom instruction or class discussions. This rule also applies for playing games on the desktop/chrome books.
3. Each day we will start our class with a "Do Now". The "Do Now" will always be posted on the front right chalk board. You are expected to be working on the assigned Do Now while I am taking attendance. A Do Now may be instructions to log onto a site and complete a task, watch a video, continue working in groups, etc. The Do Now will be our jump-off point for the class.
4. Hand in homework/classwork when it is due in order to receive full credit. For each day an assignment is late, you will be deducted 5 points. Every day that a major project/paper is late, you will receive 10 points off. I do not accept late work if we go over the answers in class the day that the assignment is due (unless you are absent).
5. All homework is due by 8 am of the date due.
6. We have a classroom library filled with many different types of books. At anytime, feel free to "check out a book" by filling out your name on the sign-out sheet located on the shelf with the books. You only need to check-out a book if you are taking it home. These books are a personal collection of mine, so please treat them with love and care.
7. On Friday we relax by having some time to do silent reading. If you are using a book from home, please remember to bring it into class.
8. I have a bucket of fidgets to keep your hands busy during discussions. If one of them breaks, its okay! Just let me know, and if some sort of mess has leaked out, please take paper towels out of the closet to clean the area. Please dispose of the broken fidgets in the garbage and put them back in the bin when you are finished.
9. Plagiarism is not permitted in this class, or anywhere in this school. The definition of plagiarism is: To steal and use the (the ideas or writings of another) as one’s own, this also includes looking up answers online and presenting them as your own. You will fail the given assignment and possibly the class if you plagiarize.
10. Above All- Respect yourself, respect your classmates, and respect our class. This class will not work as planned if respect is not used the entire time. Again, our class is a safe space where I want you to voice your opinions and feel comfortable in doing so.
General School Rules:
-No backpacks, purses, or bags of any kind are permitted in the classroom. A small pencil case is acceptable.
-You cannot leave class without a pass. Passes will be issued to go to the bathroom, guidance, the main office, etc.
If a student fails to follow any of the above policies and procedures, they will be written up and sent to the office.
