Choose a quiet space, free from distractions, to set yourself up for class. Turn off cell phones, TVs, etc. Exit other applications on your computer prior to entering the classroom.
Ensure your internet connection is working properly ahead of time.
Come to class early.
Dress appropriately. Remember this is still a classroom setting.
When you enter the classroom, make sure to enable video. Mute audio. You must only use your school device.
Mute your microphone during the lesson to avoid disturbing the class with any background noise.
Be respectful. No negative feedback on other’s work and/or comments.
Be prepared. Keep all needed materials/supplies nearby.
Be attentive. Look at the screen. Avoid multitasking during class.
Ask/Answer questions. Wait to be acknowledged by the teacher before unmuting yourself to speak. Use the chat box for posing questions. Use the chat responsibly. It is meant to facilitate conversation around the lesson topic, not for sideline discussions.
Take turns participating daily in classroom discussions. When you have a question or comment, raise your hand.
Speak at a normal level.
Do not eat or drink anything during class, wait until after we are done.
No cursing, vulgar language, or inappropriate gestures, memes.
When your class is over, leave the classroom by closing the window.
Attend Office Hours if you need extra help whenever necessary. Email the teacher the day before to schedule it.
Assignments Monday-Thursday are due at the start of the next block unless noted. Double check that you submit and turn in on Google Classroom. Friday assignments are due at 11:59 pm.
Be safe….do not give out your passwords to anyone.
All communication should be only on the Google Classroom stream or email.
