Welcome to AP Precalculus!
Going into AP Precalculus we will be building off prior concepts that you learned about in previous math courses. Sometimes this can be difficult if you have not reviewed these topics and are proficient in them. The college board has identified thirteen topics that you need proficiency in so that you may be successful in AP Precalculus. For your summer assignment (which most of you won't be able to complete until the end of the Fall semester), you will complete the following pages to review these topics. Try to work the problems on your own. If you are having issues with the questions, look for videos online to help you complete these (or ask your Algebra 2 teacher for help). The assignment can be found here: 2025-2026 AP Precalculus Summer Assignment.
The summer assignment will be checked for completion on the first day we meet for my class (i.e. being handed in on time) and then also receive a major grade for it. Print out the assignment and show your work on there. If you are not able to print out the assignment, just complete the questions on loose-leaf paper neatly in order. We will answer any questions on the summer assignment during the first day or two of class, and then take an assessment of the material during that week as well.
I am excited about the opportunity for you to have success in an Advanced Placement class. I understand that for many of you this may be your first experience with an Advanced Placement class. I will spend a great deal of time preparing you for this throughout the semester and am excited about this great opportunity! Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
