GENERAL EXPECTATIONS
The following rules are put in place for the benefit of all students, striving to create an environment where all can feel safe and receptive to engagement and meaningful learning.
RULE #1: Be the best students we can be, and learn as much as possible.
Come prepared to class, be ready to learn when class starts, pay attention when others are speaking
RULE #2: Make the classroom a good place for everyone to live and learn. Speak at appropriate times, keep hands to yourself, be respectful of others’ property
GOOGLE CLASSROOM
Google Classroom will be kept up to date with helpful resources and assignments and should be checked regularly by students (especially in case of absence).
PLEASE NOTE: All submitted work MUST be original and written BY THE STUDENT. Any form of cheating, plagiarism, or use of AI will result in a failing grade. If there is doubt, students may be asked to redo the assignment.
When finished with work:
Students are expected to have a book to read in class. You can use it anytime you finish your work early. You may bring in novels, magazines, graphic novels, comic books, newspapers, etc. I also have a small classroom library if you would rather choose a book from there. Creative activities, such as writing or drawing in a notebook, are encouraged as well (some will be provided). You may not play games or watch videos on your Chromebook without permission. =
