Grading Procedures

ASSIGNMENTS.  Assignments are expected to be completed and turned in when they are due.

MISSING ASSIGNMENTS.  Work not received will receive a zero in Genesis/Gradebook (which translates to a 0.)  When the assignment is turned in, the grade in Genesis/Gradebook will be updated accordingly.  Please note, after five days, a grade of zero will remain in Gradebook.  *If a student is absent, the district's policy of two days to make up work for each day absent will be followed.  However, if assignments are not turned in by the third day, my classroom policy on missing work will take effect.

GRADES OF "50".  Students are highly encouraged to attempt their best efforts in completing assignments.  As long as a reasonable effort is made in completing an assignment, a student will receive a grade of "50".  (A student merely writing his or her name on the paper is not considered effort and will receive a grade of zero.)  In the event that a clear lack of effort is shown, the student will be graded accordingly.
