Classroom Expectations

Welcome to Fords Middle School!

Together in American History, we will explore our exciting past starting from the Age of Exploration and we will end our journey learning about the Era of Reconstruction (after the Civil War).  As we travel through history, it is extremely important that you keep my classroom rules in mind.  We will have many discussions throughout this semester and it is very important you remember to be respectful to your teachers, your peers, and yourself.  My goal is for everyone to feel comfortable expressing their opinions and engaging in constructive conversation.

Class Materials:

There may be times when you will need loose leaf paper.  I recommend adding a History section in your binder with paper and a history folder.  You will need a charged Chromebook, pen or pencil, eraser, and wired earbuds.

The following are optional: highlighter, thin black sharpie, markers/colored pencils, and a pack of index cards.

The “Classroom Tools” tab will have all of the resources you will need, including many videos that will help with e-learning in general. All of your notes and assignments will be posted on Google Classroom daily.  Our textbook is online and you can find the link in Clever. Since you will have access to all of my slides in Google Classroom and “Classroom Tools”, there is no need for a notebook.  Please make sure you organize your google drive and create a “6th Grade History” folder to keep your assignments that have either been shared with you or created for class.  It would also be helpful to bookmark links to the FMS homepage, my Google site, Google Classroom, and your textbook.

It's an honor to have the opportunity to teach you American history.  Together we can make this an amazing year!
